Definition - A Quest can be defined from an individual or organizational perspective. They can be negative or positive and the three stages are (1) call to adventure, (2) the journey, and (3) the return (See Figure 1). Quest is a journey toward success. An organization used the (fictive) story or vision of being able to develop a new organization by setting out on a journey of discovery and reform. It is not so scientific a knowledge alternative as in the cases of bureaucracy or chaos forms of organization. Some find it positive to embark on a journey of development and organizational reform. Others find the experience negative (it makes things worse off). both individuals and organizations have quests.
The parts are call, journey, and return.
